Spin Master, a global children's entertainment company behind PAW Patrol, Hatchimals and more, has appointed The Point.1888 as the U.K. brand licensing agent for its newest franchise, Unicorn Academy.

“We are so proud to be working with Spin Master to help bring ‘Unicorn Academy’ to life,” says Bethan Garton, chief commercial officer, The Point.1888. “Amidst the wealth of content available to children, ‘Unicorn Academy’ brings something unique – allowing them to explore a world with sparkle, magic and adventure. For that reason, the possibilities for product development, consumer engagement and retail activation are endless and we’re honored to be involved.”

Coming just weeks after Spin Master revealed plans to bring the book series to life with a global Netflix animated series, toy line, digital game and expansive consumer products program, Spin Master, aligns with The Point.1888 to create a range of products for “Unicorn Academy.”

To manage the consumer products brand strategy and product rollout, The Point.1888 was the choice for the U.K., having run successful consumer products campaigns for children’s entertainment brands, L.O.L. Surprise, CoComelon, Blippi, Moomin and Tom Gates.

For the Unicorn Academy brand, The Point.1888’s strategy and product development are already underway with partners being sought across apparel, accessories, stationery, footwear, FMCG and more.

“‘Unicorn Academy’ is a unique and magical experience and we are delighted with the creative and strategic approach The Point.1888 has brought to the planning,” says Andre Lake Mayer, senior vice president, global strategic partnerships and consumer products, Spin Master. “We are certain these concepts can be transformed into an inspiring reality for kids – through apparel, accessories, gifts, health and beauty, stationery, home, consumer electronics, activities and more. With their expertise on our side, we’re ready to dazzle this next generation together.”

As License Global previously reported, “Unicorn Academy” launches globally on Netflix in November and a full range of Spin Master toys are planned for late summer 2024.
