Storypod Grows 'Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood' Toy Line
New "Daniel Tiger" toys are being created by Storypod thanks to a new licensing deal.
Storypod, a bilingual screenless audio edutainment platform for kids, has sealed a licensing agreement with Fred Rogers Productions and its worldwide licensing agent, 9 Story Brands, to produce "Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood" themed products. The initial offerings will be available in time for the 2021 holiday season.
"Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood is beloved by kids and parents alike for exciting adventures and value-based stories that captivate children while teaching them important life lessons," says Daniel Buelhoff, co-founder, Storypod. "Developing content in partnership with this legacy brand is a dream of ours and furthers our foundational vision to create immersive learning products."
The rollout will include a "Daniel Tiger" version of its anchor "Craftie" toy along with additional products such as "Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood" learning cards and branded sleeves.
"We're excited to be among the first licensed brands to partner with Storypod," says Paul Siefken, president and chief executive officer, Fred Rogers Productions. "We're always looking for partners that provide a fresh experience for 'Daniel Tiger' fans, and Storypod does just that. With this system, children get to experience the fun of 'Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood' stories in new ways."
Further to the licensing deal, earlier this month Storypod announced a multi-property marketing agreement with PBS KIDS, with "Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood" planned as the first release in its upcoming edutainment content lineup.
"We are delighted to continue to connect with partners for 'Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood' that align with the core values of the show and take the characters beyond the screen," says Kyra Halperin, co-vice president, consumer products, 9 Story Brands. "Storypod's educational audio learning platform will spark imagination and creativity in fans across the U.S. and beyond."
