Set to be launched in Japan at the close of March, Meecha! will collect content from across Benesse Corporation’s widespread educational archives, which stretch more than 30 years, as well as curated titles from across the world.

Titles lined up for launch include CBeebies’ “Andy’s Dinosaur Adventures” and “Yaka Dee,” ABC Australia’s “Bobbie the Bear” and “How To Do Stuff Good” and Belgium’s “TikTak.”

“This major new service, addressing the on-demand content that even the youngest audiences have grown to expect, is tailored to deliver great educational programming from around the world,” says Daisuke Tebayashi, director, global business division, Benesse Corporation. “We believe this service will be popular with Japanese children and, thanks to its educational focus, parents too!”

The new service will also lean on its mainstay preschool character Shimajiro and launch as part of Benesse’s early childhood education service Komodo Challenge, which reaches 800,000 members.
