Viacom International Media Networks has boosted its original and branded content management team with the international appointment of Joanna Wells as senior editorial director, and made two additions to its teams in Madrid and Milan.

With more than 15 years of digital content experience, Wells will be responsible for expanding the existing central content teams, which produce short-form pop culture and youth lifestyle entertainment, to incorporate and work collaboratively with the MTV News, Movies and Fashion teams based in U.K. and New York.

Prior to joining VIMN, Wells was European head of business development and marketing at PopSugar/ShopStyle Europe. She has also held positions at AOL Europe, Tiscali, Clock Ltd. and the BBC.

In other international news, VIMN has made two key appointments to its teams in Madrid and Milan.

VIMN South has appointed David Urgell Pérez as vice president of strategy and business development in South Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Based in Madrid, Pérez will be responsible for developing new business and expanding the presence of VIMN brands in the region, as well as overseeing the digital, research and affiliate departments.

Perez joins VIMN South from Fox International where he was vice president of business planning and development for Europe and Africa.

Meanwhile, Andrea Castellari has been appointed senior vice president and general manager of VIMN Italy, the Middle East and Turkey.

Based in Milan, Castellari will oversee all linear and digital operations for VIMN brands in the regions including commercial partnerships, consumer products and other ancillary businesses.

As a result of this change, Stefano Araldi, senior director of consumer products, will assume full responsibility for VIMN’s consumer products business across Italy, Greece, the Middle East and Turkey.  ???
