Moonbug Entertainment has announced the appointment of Yasmin Zahid as head, distribution and brand partnerships, APAC. Reporting to Nicolas Eglau, managing director, EMEA and APAC, Zahid will strategize Moonbug’s long-term growth in Asia-Pacific to build out global franchises. Kelly Cooke is leaving the company to pursue new opportunities.
In the role, Zahid will extend Moonbug’s channel and content syndication footprint by forging new partnerships and amplifying existing ones. She will also focus on creating originals with key platforms and broadcasters in the region, building on Moonbug’s recent successes within the region, including the launch of Moonbug’s linear channel in Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines.
Zahid previously served as executive vice president, head of affiliate and B2B distribution, WarnerMedia, overseeing the successful launch of HBO GO in critical markets across Asia during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Moonbug Entertainment has some of the world’s most well-known brands and content that kids and parents love, such as ‘CoComelon,’ ‘Blippi’ and ‘Oddbods,’ just to name a few,” says Zahid. “I am excited to be part of the Moonbug family to expand its footprint in APAC, and I can’t wait to get started.”
“We are very excited to welcome Yasmin to the Moonbug family,” says Eglau. “With her impressive track record and industry knowledge, I have no doubt she will be an invaluable addition to our company, leading Moonbug’s future growth and expansion in the APAC region. Yasmin’s appointment is a testament to our ambitious plans. Her vast experience and network will be key in continuing the wonderful work in bringing our popular shows to even wider audiences.”
Zahid’s first day at Moonbug will be July 17.
