Former eBay executive will now manage all aspects of Macy’s business including merchandising, marketing, operations and more.
NORTH AMERICA–Macy’s has hired Hal Lawton to serve as the company’s president, effective Sept. 8.
As president, Lawton will be responsible for all aspects of the Macy’s brand–including merchandising, marketing, stores, operations, technology and consumer insights and analytics.
Most recently, Lawton served as senior vice president of eBay North America. During his tenure, he was responsible for all aspects of eBay’s Americas business unit and oversaw a period of sustained performance improvement.
Prior to joining eBay, Lawton spent 10 years in various leadership positions at Home Depot, where he was most recently senior vice president of merchandising and responsible for jump-starting HomeDepot.com.
