The Licensing Industry Merchandisers' Association U.K. has named Matthew Glynn of the Football Association as its second annual U.K. Rising Star.

Glynn received the award at a ceremony on July 23, part of LIMA U.K.’s annual Young Professionals Networking event in London.

Sponsored by Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products, the event opened with a career advice session and Q&A with Tom Gunn, international brand director, EMEA and ANZ, NVCP; Vicky Hill, licensing manager, Bulldog Licensing; and Bettina Koeckler, founder, The DealFactory.

Glynn recently stepped into a managerial role at the FA where he now serves as commercial acquisitions manager. He will receive one year of mentorship from LIMA U.K. managing director Kelvyn Gardner.

"I look forward to working with Matthew, who has shown a commitment to and passion for the U.K. licensing industry, as well as demonstrating innovation, initiative and leadership in his career to-date,” says Gardner. “It is also great to celebrate sports licensing with our young professionals, and we’re really pleased to be able to recognize and support such talent in our industry."
