Italian sportswear brand Sergio Tacchini has renewed its exclusive licensing agreement with IMG, which will continue to represent the brand internationally.
The two brands initially started working together in 2012 and have since experienced significant growth with licensing deals for the company’s core product categories of apparel and footwear across Asia, Australasia, Europe, the Middle East and South America.
An IMG team based in Milan, which will work closely with Wintex Italia and IMG’s global licensing team, will support Sergio Tacchini’s licensing activities.
Additionally, IMG has signed agreements to bring the brand to new product categories including underwear, socks, watches, bed linens and back-to-school.
The multi-year deal with IMG comes as Sergio Tacchini prepares to celebrate its 50th anniversary later this year.
“Sergio Tacchini’s worldwide popularity has grown significantly since we first started working with the brand, and we are delighted to have the opportunity to continue building on this,” says Marcelo Cordeiro, licensing director, IMG. “In what is a special year for Sergio Tacchini, we are excited about developing the licensing program to drive awareness of both its rich history and its forthcoming milestone.”
