Cineplex will manage the venues’ day-to-day operations, which will include golf games and tournaments, social leagues and more.
NORTH AMERICA–Topgolf Entertainment Group and Cineplex have joined forces to open multiple Topgolf entertainment experiences across Canada.
Each location will mirror other Topgolf venues worldwide and will allow guests to play point-scoring golf games using microchipped balls that instantly score themselves as well as show players the accuracy and distance of their shots on a TV in their hitting bay.
The three-level venue will also feature year-round programming that includes events for kids and families, social leagues, groups, golf tournaments and instruction, as well as chef-driven menus and top-shelf drinks.
“Throughout the years, Canada has been the top-requested country among our fans asking us to expand outside the U.S.,” says Erik Anderson, co-chairman and chief executive officer, Topgolf Entertainment Group. “We’re thrilled to continue our growth in North America and introduce Topgolf as a destination for entertainment and socializing where Canadians can play golf, even when there’s snow on the ground.”
Additionally, Cineplex will manage the venues’ day-to-day operations and will work closely with Topgolf to ensure the best guest experience. Traditionally, Cineplex operates in the film entertainment and content, amusement and leisure, and media sectors. It also owns and operates The Rec Room, Canada’s social destination for eats and entertainment, and an online eSports platform.
Both companies are currently planning potential locations across Canada; however, an expected opening date has not been disclosed.
