The Point.1888 is on board to build the confectionery brand’s Butterkist popcorn, Black Jack, Refreshers and more across the region.
Tangerine Confectionery has appointed The Point.1888 as its exclusive brand extension partner in the U.K.
Under the terms of the partnership, The Point.1888 will work to secure licensees for Tangerine’s portfolio of brands, which includes the Butterkist popcorn brand, Wham, Fruit Salad, Black Jack, Refreshers, Sherbet Fountain, Dip Dab, Flumps and more.
Furthermore, the agency has already secured a roster of partners across health and beauty, apparel, gift and stationery.
“Extending our brands has become increasingly important at Tangerine Confectionery. For our loyal fans, it’s the retro appeal of our confectionery products and branded popcorn that appeals,” says Russell Tanner, marketing and category management director, Tangerine Confectionery. “Our new generation of customers recognize that our products pack a unique flavor experience that connects emotionally. This is why we believe there is a huge opportunity and we’re looking for new ways to engage. The Point.1888 truly understand the value of our brands and we share the same vision to sign partnership licensing agreements to grow our stable of much-loved names sustainably over the long term.”
“We are very excited to be working with a collection of brands that we have all grown extremely fond of since childhood,” says Will Stewart, managing director, The Point.1888. “As a former confectionery buyer at Woolies, I know the Tangerine brands extremely well and the potential within brand extension is phenomenal.”
