GLOBAL–The International Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association will ring in 2018 with a series of webinars designed to give licensing professionals insights on how to identify and leverage brand essence, and (in Canada) how to protect their intellectual property.

Each webinar session is free to all LIMA members and will cost $200 per line for non-members. Each session will take place from 12-1 p.m. EST.

The webinars include:

  • Expand, Grow, Thrive–On Jan.10, Pete Canalichio of Licensing Brands discuss his findings and experiences on what it takes to build valuable assets and to generate more value from those assets. The webinar will also include brand examples–including how a game like “Halo” generates millions in revenue through long-term storytelling.

  • What You Need to Know About Protecting and Enforcing Your IP in Canada–On Jan. 17, Tony Prenol, partner at Blake, Cassels & Graydon, and leader of the firm’s intellectual property group will provide an overview of how to protect and enforce your IP in Canada, including examples specific to different industries.

  • The Search for Your Missing Brand–On Jan. 31, Raj B. Stroff and Michael Reda of Pine Strategy and Design will offer a look at how to drill down to a brand’s essence and get a better idea on how to determine where it can and should live.

“This slate of webinars is designed to provide the most up-to-date information led by global industry leaders to help licensing and marketing professionals gain insight into the topics currently trending,” says Charles Riotto, president, LIMA. “No matter where your business is or needs to be, there is insight to be gained for everyone involved in licensing.”
