Licensing International Launches 2020 Global Licensing Industry Study

Licensing International has released its 2020 Global Licensing Industry Study, which highlights international and categorical licensing trends.

Conducted by Brandar Consulting, the survey covers revenue figures broken out by country, category and business segment, and historical mapping and trend insights. The report is free for free to all Licensing International members and $975 for non-members.

Insights from the report include the finding that global sales revenue of licensed merchandise and services grew 4.5 percent in 2019. Brandar Consulting found that revenue for the space to $292.8 billion last year. Growth in 2019 would be the most substantial percentage uptick seen by the industry over the previous six years. The report also found that the entertainment and character licensing sector earned the most revenue in 2019. U.S. revenues also led the way globally last year.
