Rubicon Group Holding has appointed gaming industry veteran Jeff Nuzzi as its new director of digital media.

Nuzzi will lead RGH’s efforts to create a digital platform of games, educational and entertainment content for its growing library of intellectual properties.

One of the first properties that will be developed by Nuzzi will be Monster In My Pocket, the collectible monster brand for boys that RGH recently licensed from creator and owner MEG. Nuzzi will work to deliver Monster In My Pocket to a worldwide audience through game platforms, apps, online content and social media.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jeff Nuzzi to the RGH team on the heels of his many successes in the digital marketplace,” says Randa Ayoubi, chief executive officer, RGH. “His recent accomplishments and specialized skill set are acutely in tune with our goal to build a digital division that will quickly and efficiently maximize the potential of all of our IPs across many platforms.”

Nuzzi comes to RGH from The Walt Disney Company where he served as the senior manager of marketing at Disney Mobile. Nuzzi previously held senior positions at THQ Wireless, Universal Interactive and Fox Interactive.

“Building a large, engaged audience by telling stories across multiple mediums is a tremendous opportunity. That these stories can begin as digital content speaks to the powerful impact of technology on entertainment,” says Nuzzi. “With their expertise in feature film, TV, games, consumer products and themed entertainment, RGH is in a unique position to create enduring trans-media franchises, and I look forward to leading the team as we build out the company’s digital arm.”
