Pukeko Pictures has announced plans to release an educational game app for The WotWots in China, in conjunction with Pukeko’s Chinese partner, Grand Entertainment.

The WotWots “Love to Learn” app will be available on Tencent, China Telecom, 91 Helper and other regional platforms.

The app is the first in a series of educational games that will provide age-appropriate learning tools for preschool children in China.

“There is a strong demand for The WotWots in China and the creation of this learning-based game app is aligned with the feedback we are receiving from our fans and their parents who want to interact regularly with the brand,” says Andrew Smith, chief executive, Pukeko Pictures.

The release of the WotWots app follows a new partnership between Pukeko, Grand Entertainment and the Animation School of the Beijing Film Academy to establish the International Animation Technology Joint Research Centre in an effort to promote the development of animated projects and open up the Chinese film and television markets.

The first collaboration for the trio will be a series of “The WotWots” co-productions, which will include TV episodes created exclusively for the Chinese home market.
