DHX Media has appointed Cupcake Digital to develop a series of children’s apps inspired by the “Yo Gabba Gabba!” TV series and stage show. 

Cupcake Digital will create deluxe activity apps designed for children ages 5 and under, with the first app scheduled to launch this winter.

The app, “A Very Awesome Yo Gabba Gabba! Christmas,” will be part of DHX’s seasonal marketing and licensing strategy, which also includes the first-ever live holiday “Tourabba! Live!” stage show and a DVD featuring two original episodes.

“A Very Awesome Yo Gabba Gabba! Christmas” is inspired by the song “There’s a Party in My Tummy” and will feature DJ Lance Rock alongside the characters Brobee, Foofa, Muno, Plex and Toodee.

The app will feature a variety of activities that offer ways for kids to learn about healthy foods and will be available through iTunes, Amazon, Google Play and the Barnes & Noble Nook store.
