PopCap Games, a division of Electronic Arts, has appointed Tycoon Enterprises to handle licensing and merchandising for the app property “Plants vs. Zombies.”

The agreement covers a large part of Latin America, including Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean and all of South America, excluding Brazil.

“This brand makes a fantastic complement to our already strong brand portfolio and adds a groundbreaking alternative for fans of all ages,” says Elias Fasja, president, Tycoon Group. “We are delighted to work with such a talented team and proud to have been selected to lead their licensing efforts in Latin America. We are certain our expertise in the field and our network of relationships will provide Plants vs. Zombies the growth needed to become one of the largest licensed programs of upcoming years.”

PopCap released a sequel to the original game app in August and is now planning a console game, “Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare,” for spring 2014.
