Trigger Happy has launched a new app that allows users to create their own animated stories using licensed characters and brands from The Jim Henson Company, National Geographic and others.

The “Toon Hero” app lets users access a range of licensed characters, referred to as “toys,” within the app’s digital toy store to create their stories, including familiar faces from Jim Henson’s Doodles, Hero: 108 and Mukpuddy. Players also have a selection of scenic backdrops from National Geographic that can be used to enhance their stories.

“Through our partnership with ‘Toon Hero,’ people will have the tools to give personalities and storylines to a portfolio of doodles created and inspired by Jim Henson’s actual drawings,” says Melissa Segal, executive vice president, global consumer products, The Jim Henson Company. “Jim Henson’s Doodles share many familiar features of Jim Henson’s most beloved characters that will resonate with consumers. “Toon Hero” is now available for the iPad in the Apple App Store.
