Two video games for SEGA's new Sonic the Hedgehog brand, Sonic Boom, have launched at retailers across the U.S.

Both the Wii U game “Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric” and the Nintendo DS title “Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal” are now available nationwide.

Following the U.S. premiere of Sonic’s first CGI-animated TV series, “Sonic Boom” on Cartoon Network, and a full merchandising program, the games are cornerstones of the newly created Sonic Boom universe.

Set in the same world as the “Sonic Boom” animated TV series, Sonic and the team, including new friend Sticks, work together to stop the evil villain Lyric.

The new Sonic Boom game titles will deliver different experiences than previous Sonic games. With collaborative gameplay at their core, the games also introduce exploration, combat and a new Enerbeam gadget.
