Rovio Entertainment has big plans for the newest Angry Bird, Stella, and her flock of friends including a new game, an animated series and consumer products.

Fans will first meet Stella and her friends in an all-new game in September. The app will take slingshot gameplay to the treetops of Golden Island where Stella and her friends must battle Gale, a good bird gone bad. Hasbro is planning a new line of Telepods interactive figures to accompany the game.

Then in November, Stella and her friends will star in their own animation series on ToonsTV. The first season will have 13 six-minute episodes that will air weekly on the website before making their way to TV and video-on-demand services worldwide.

At Licensing Expo June 17-19, Rovio will unveil the consumer product line for the spin-off brand including the new Telepods line from Hasbro, as well as plush, apparel, accessories and more. The first Angry Birds Stella books will launch in September alongside the new game.

“Angry Birds Stella is an inclusive brand that engages everybody, but also celebrates female heroism,” says Blanca Juti, chief marketing officer, Rovio Entertainment. “It's all about friendship and the struggles of six very different personalities. The wonderful spirit of these fearless friends will shake things up across games, animations, books, consumer products and other fun content under the Angry Birds Stella brand.”

In other Rovio news, the Mall of Qatar has unveiled plans for its new Family Entertainment Center in the Al Rayyan area of the country, which will include an Angry Birds activity park. The park marks Angry Birds first land-based presence in the Middle East. The mall and entertainment center are scheduled to open at the end of 2015.
