Rovio Entertainment has released a new game series, “Bad Piggies,” a spin-off of its hit mobile game “Angry Birds” where the pig villains are now the game’s protagonists.

Set on Piggy Island and told from the pigs’ point of view, players build machines to help the pigs reach the birds’ eggs.

“We’ve never done anything like this,” says Petri Järvilehto, executive vice president of games, Rovio. “Where ‘Angry Birds’ was all about destruction, ‘Bad Piggies’ is all about the joy of construction.”

“Bad Piggies” currently features 60 game levels and four “sandbox” levels where players can build just for the fun of it, with updates promised soon. The game is available now for iOS, Android, Mac and PC.

In fact, Rovio has hinted that this is just the beginning for the Bad Piggies with other games and entertainment ventures for its newest franchise already in the works.
