3D experience inspired by the game franchise will launch next year.

PopCap Games, an Electronic Arts studio, has partnered with the entertainment destination Carowinds for the world's first ever "Plants vs. Zombies" experiential attraction.

The Carowinds amusement park is located on the border of North and South Carolina.

Set to launch in 2016, Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare: 3Z Arena will be an intra-active 3D experience that brings the popular mobile game to life. Guests will step inside a state-of-the-art complex featuring 3D technology, massive screens and surround-sound and motion-based seats, where they will then compete in teans within the "Plants vs. Zombies" universe.

“We’re always striving to create new and unique ways for people to experience the 'Plants vs. Zombies' universe,” says Jeremy Vanhoozer, senior creative director, "Plants vs. Zombies" franchise. “Our franchise is all about creating fun moments and doing things differently. This first-ever interactive 'Garden Warfare' attraction from Carowinds will be unlike anything people have seen before, and we can’t wait for them to experience it next spring.”

The newest game release from the franchise, "Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2," will also launch spring 2016.
