Highlights include: The ability to play the game in TV mode and handheld mode, as well as share a Joy-Con controller with another trainer to battle one-on-one in tabletop mode anywhere; a new fighter Pokémon, Decidueye, will be available as well as all previous Pokémon from the Wii U and arcade versions; new support Pokémon Litten and Popplio will make their debut; several new modes including team battle and group match; daily challenges; battle replays; and more.

Finally, the second titles in the Pokémon series–“Pokémon Gold” and “Pokémon Silver”–will debut on Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console later this year. Both titles, which were originally released in in Japan in 1999 for the Game Boy Color, will be recreated into Virtual Console versions such that their screens appear as they did on the original console.
