Gameloft and Mattel have released a follow-up to their 2008 “Uno” game app that allows fans to play each other using various social networks.

The new game, “Uno & Friends,” is based on the popular card game, which was originally created in 1971.

Now available for free for both iOS and Android devices, the new app brings a social dimension to the game with multi-platform play that allows fans to challenge up to three other players in real-time using their favorite social networks.

"As one of the world's largest and most respected toy companies, Mattel is renowned for constantly raising the bar for family friendly games and entertainment," says Gonzague de Vallois, senior vice president of publishing, Gameloft. "Now, with a strong franchise such as Uno and more than three generations of fans, Gameloft is thrilled to be able to partner with the company to bring a beloved pastime into the digital social space so that fans can now connect with one another from around the world via their social and mobile networks."
