U.K. retailer Forbidden Planet will launch a Temple Run merchandise range in early September that will include apparel, bags, gifts and novelty.

In another new deal, National Geographic will launch a series non-fiction exploration-style Temple Run books in the fourth quarter of 2014 in the U.K. The books will focus on mysterious places across the globe that could make ideal backdrops to the Temple Run series.

“The new partners are perfect both for the Temple Run license, as they have great synergy with the brand, and also for the players of the game itself as the crossover of audience is obvious,” says Gayle Tarrant, partner, Lisle International. “With these new partners we will provide an opportunity for fans to continue the experience of Temple Run beyond the game. Temple Run has been cited as part of the revolution

in gaming and has demonstrated its longevity and popularity by remaining in the top 20 iTunes mobile games since 2011. Imangi have great plans for the brand going forward and with many opportunities still to be had with the licensing program now is a great time to be involved.”
