Video game publisher Konami Digital Entertainment has appointed Sandra Arcan as senior manager of licensing and merchandising, EMEA, in a move to develop and extend its key brands through licensed products across the EMEA and Australia/New Zealand region.

“We are delighted to welcome Sandra to the company. She brings with her a clear vision and a wealth of experience in brand licensing and marketing strategy,” says Shinji Hirano, president, Konami Digital Entertainment. “Her role will be to drive our merchandise, exploiting the potential of our licensed products across our diverse IP portfolio, licenses and key retailers. Focusing on our core brands Metal Gear Solid, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Pro Evolution Soccer as well as classic Konami arcade titles, Arcan will develop our new business strategy across the Konami proposition.”

Arcan joins Konami from 4Kids Entertainment, where she was the associate licensing and retail director.

“The legacy and highly captive audience, as well as stunning artwork which comes with Konami’s IP portfolio, creates fantastic licensing and brand extension opportunities,” says Arcan. “With a raft of excellent partners already on board such as a long-running direct-to-retail with Uniqlo, the prospects to build on this are very exciting.”
