To celebrate the upcoming release of “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare,” GameStop is partnering with Activision to host a launch event and transform its West Hollywood, Calif. store into a “CoD” command center and offer fans of the game exclusive deals.
“CoD: Modern Warfare,” the best pre-selling game of 2019 at GameStop, hits store shelves on Oct. 25. To celebrate the launch, GameStop will host a series of exclusive in-store events that will include exclusive gaming deals and an original live stream panel with Infinity Ward developers.
The West Hollywood GameStop location will be transformed to bring fans an experiential journey designed and produced by the Midnight Oil Agency. The event will offer “CoD” 3D photo opportunities and hands-on play. Fans can also expect to see a vehicle crashed into the store front.
“We are proud to be teaming with GameStop to bring the best of ‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’ to our passionate fanbase,” says Aaron Brinkman, vice president, sales, Activision Blizzard. “Whether it’s the exclusive ‘Dark’ and ‘Precision Edition’ collector’s editions, exclusive ‘Call of Duty’ consumer products or the massive in-store launch events, GameStop is the premier destination for the ‘Modern Warfare’ launch this week.”
Between Oct. 24-27, fans at the West Hollywood store, located at 7100 Santa Monica Blvd., can expect the following event activities:
“Call of Duty: Modern Warfare” live stream panel discussion (5:15 p.m. - 6 p.m. PT) and
“Call of Duty: Modern Warfare” Command Center experiential journey is open to the public (6 p.m. - 9 p.m. PT).
Video game journalist Geoff Keighley will lead a live panel discussion with Infinity Ward developers. Fans who are unable to attend the West Hollywood GameStop store can watch a stream of the panel discussion across West Coast GameStop retail locations via GameStop TV on Oct. 24 at 5:15 p.m. PT and repeated at 8:15 p.m. PT.
