Halfbrick Studios has tapped Dynamite Entertainment to develop a new series of comic books inspired by its hit mobile game “Fruit Ninja.”

In the new series, the Fruit Ninjas have mastered the art of Juice Jitsu, which unlocks a variety of hidden powers through the slicing of fruit, so they can protect their neighbors from time traveling super villains.

The debut issue will also feature two bonus stories–including an ancient Fruit Ninjas tale and a jetpack joyride story–as well as game play option for digital versions.

“Fruit Ninja #1” is slated to launch this September at comic book retailers and through digital platforms such as Kindle, iBooks, Google Play, Dynamite Digital, Dark Horse Digital and more.
