Frito-Lay Promotes Skylanders

PepsiCo's Frito-Lay division and Activision Publishing have teamed for a summer Skylanders promotion in North America.

From now through Sept. 2, fans can collect a series of four, limited edition Skylanders Giants Sidekicks figures by purchasing specially marked Frito-Lay 20-count variety packs.

Fans who download the free “Skylanders Giants In-Store Adventure” augmented reality app can also scan barcodes in stores and on Frito-Lay variety packs to bring a Skylanders Giants character to life on their iOS or Android device. App users can manipulate the character, take and share pictures and unlock additional interactive content.

"Frito-Lay makes many of America's favorite snack brands and Activision is one of the leading worldwide developers, publishers and distributors of interactive entertainment and leisure products. We wanted to join forces to make the grocery store snack aisle even more fun," says Christine Allen, senior director of marketing, Frito-Lay North America.
