FremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment has released the first Tree Fu Tom app, based on the CBeebies TV series.

Developed by Crane Media, “Tree Fu Tom 3D Adventures” uses ground-breaking SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) augmented reality technology to allows users to fly the animated superhero in real world surroundings.

Holding a smartphone or tablet above a magazine or book, launches Tom and his trusty sidekick Twigs into the real world for interactive game play.

Children can fully immerse themselves in the 3D experience by taking photos and making videos of themselves alongside their heroes.

The app also features three mini-games designed to extend user engagement while helping children develop their movement and coordination skills.

“We are always looking for new ways for Tree Fu Tom’s many fans to engage with their favorite characters,” says Nicholas Dale, director, digital and hardlines licensing and merchandising, FremantleMedia North America. “By allowing children to play with their heroes in their own environment this innovative new app takes children’s interaction with their heroes to a whole new level.”

The “Tree Fu Tom 3D Adventure” app is now available in the Apple App Store.
