Formula 1 and Electronic Arts have announced the launch of “F1 23,” which be available from June 16 and include multiple new features, as well as providing players with their first opportunity to virtually race at the Las Vegas circuit ahead of the inaugural Formula 1 Heineken Silver Las Vegas Grand Prix 2023, which takes place in November.
The game has also reintroduced the story mode, “Braking Point,” which will see the return of young upstart, Aiden Jackson, as well as his Konnersport Racing Team, team-mate and protagonist, Devon Butler. The new chapter will include a host of new characters, fresh rivalries and racing challenges along with twists and turns along the way.
As well as the addition of the Las Vegas circuit, the Lusail International circuit, Qatar, will also feature for the first time on this season’s game as the Formula 1 Qatar Airways Qatar Grand Prix returns to the F1 calendar in October.
Celebrating his back-to-back FIA Formula One World Championship wins, EA Sports ambassador, Max Verstappen, has been confirmed as the cover star for the exclusive digital Champions Edition. This version allows players to gain three days early access to “F1 23,” starting on June 13, along with multiple other benefits including 18,000 “PitCoin.” Seven-time World Champion, Lewis Hamilton, will appear alongside Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc as the cover stars for the standard edition of “F1 23.”
“We are delighted to continue working with EA Sports on creating the latest F1 game for the 2023 season,” says Brandon Snow, managing director of commercial, Formula 1. “‘F1 23’ is another way in which we are able to give gamers and fans an additional way to enjoy and engage with the sport and a firsthand experience of being behind the wheel. The exciting addition of the Las Vegas circuit on this year’s game will provide fans with their first taste of what’s to come ahead of the inaugural Grand Prix later this year.”
“The return of ‘Braking Point’ allows players to immerse themselves in a racing story, with a host of new and returning characters and surprising twists,” says Lee Mather, senior creative director, Codemasters. “We’re adding more race authenticity by introducing red flags and the 35% race distance, giving players more strategy and unpredictability. Our refined handling delivers more predictable behavior and better traction to help players attack the circuit and get on the podium.”
“F1 23” will release across, PlayStation5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation4, Xbox One, and PC via EA App, Epic Games Store and Steam.
