DreamWorks Animation has tapped Rovio Entertainment, the creators of “Angry Birds,” to create a mobile game for its upcoming animated film The Croods.

The game will launch globally for iOS and Android devices on March 14, in advance of the film’s March 22 premiere.

"Rovio set the industry standard in mobile gaming with ‘Angry Birds,’ and we believe their massive community of active users will go wild for The Croods," says Chris Hewish, head of global interactive, DWA. "We've developed a close and collaborative relationship with Rovio in which our world-class filmmakers created an incredible piece of custom animation on the home screen that introduces players to the game’s beautifully rich aesthetics."

The Croods tells the story of the world’s first family road trip; when their cave is destroyed, the Crood family must travel into strange territory in search of a new home.
