Media Ventures will oversee all of Capcom’s global esports initiatives and entertainment licensing efforts outside of Japan. The new unit will oversee all efforts in those areas while stationed in Los Angeles, Calif.

“Our presence in the city gives us intimate access to those resources and community thought leaders,” says Midori Yuasa, chief executive officer, Capcom Media Ventures. “In addition, there are obvious benefits for our media licensing team to be based so close to our Hollywood partners.”

The entity is currently working on producing and licensing a variety of films and shows based on the Capcom IP, including the soon-to-be released animated special

Monster Hunter: Legends of the Guild

Before the creation of Capcom Media Ventures, the gaming company had already seen success with its arcade
