Ubisoft franchise expands ahead of upcoming film release.

Ubisoft has signed multiple deals in categories including books, collectibles and virtual reality for its video game franchise “Assassin’s Creed.”

First, Ubisoft has tapped licensee Transmedia to create an official art book, The Art of Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, for the new game. The new book will contain hundreds of never-before-seen pieces of concept art as well as commentary from the artists and developers.

Also in publishing, Penguin Random House will release its eighth “Assassin’s Creed” novel, Assassin’s Creed: Underworld, by Oliver Bowden. The new book will hit U.K. retailers Nov. 5.

Ubisoft has also partnered with licensee UbiCollectibles for two “Assassin’s Creed” figurines featuring characters Jacob and Evie Frye. Each figurine will come with a lithography and when combined will form The Wise and Wild Twins diorama. Additionally, UbiCollectibles will release two, life-size Assassin’s weapon replicas–a gauntlet with hidden blade and the Assassin’s cane sword.

The two limited-edition figurines and collectibles are slated to launch in the U.K. in October. However, UbiCollectibles is currently taking preorders on its website.

Finally, Ubisoft has also partnered with AMD for a VR platform to bring the upcoming Assassin’s Creed film to virtual reality. The new VR experience will be a film-based, live-action cinematic experience (short concurrently on-set with movie) that will allow fans to live out their favorite moments from the film in locations like Malta, Spain and London. Assassin’s Creed will premiere worldwide Dec. 21.
