Animoca Brands, MGM Debut Addams Family Mobile Game

Animoca Brands subsidiary Pixowl has signed a licensing agreement with MGM to develop a mobile game based on the upcoming animated feature film The Addams Family.

“The Addams Family Mystery Mansion” will launch globally for both iOS and Android devices near the end of the current quarter. The free-to-play game will offer optional in-app purchases. MGM will receive royalties from revenues generated by the title.

Pixowl’s game invites players to help Morticia and Gomez reunite the rest of the Addams family and refurnish their home. Driven by an original story, players can collect their favorite characters from the upcoming movie and furnish and decorate the famous Addams mansion.

The Addams Family franchise was spawned by the comic of the same name by Charles Addams in 1938. In addition to comics, the franchise includes books, films, television series, animations, video games and musicals.

MGM’s Addams Family animated feature will open in cinemas worldwide this October. The previously announced merchandising program for the film included more than 30 partners.
