‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed’ Launches on PC, Consoles
Fans can play as the TMNT in adventures set after the events of the 2023 Paramount Pictures film, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem.”
Outright Games, in collaboration with Paramount Game Studios, has launched the video game, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed.”
The game is set in the aftermath of the 2023 Paramount Pictures film, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, ” where fans can play as the four brothers against new mutants causing havoc across New York City. The game features ten new mutants, or “Mewbies,” each with five varying forms of mutation that level up in challenge.
The voice actors behind the titular brothers from the movie will also appear in the game, with Nicolas Cantu as Leonardo, Brady Noon as Raphael, Micah Abbey as Donatello and Shamon Brown Jr. as Michelangelo. Additional characters from the film will also make appearances.
The game offers fans a variety of interactive locations and challenges, all with a distinct New York feel. Players can train in the Turtles’ Sewer Lair, visit spots like the Haunted Arcade and take on NPC side quests like pizza delivery challenges, all changing with the game’s dynamic day and night cycles. Players can unlock new abilities by gaining XP and level up with Ally Bonds through engaging dialog. Players can also team up with a two-player couch co-op.
“The TMNT franchise has a rich history in gaming, and we cannot wait for fans to immerse themselves in this new story and further explore this universe,” says Doug Rosen, senior vice president, Games and Emerging Media, Paramount. “The gameplay is fun and delivers the dynamic action players expect. The narrative is captivating, and we are sure fans will return to the New York sewers again and again for more.”
The game’s characters are authentically designed by the film’s lead character designer, Woodrow White, in the film’s colorful art style. Fans can enjoy fully voice-acted 2D and 3D cutscenes, with unlockable skins inspired by the original comic book and ’80s cartoon Turtles.
“The anticipation for ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed’ from fans has been phenomenal, and we are delighted to finally release this game into the world,” says Stephanie Malham, managing director, Outright Games. “With the help of our friends at Paramount and our talented developers, A Heartful of Games, we’ve captured the unique art style and humor of the most recent film, while offering story-driven brawler gameplay that faithfully fits the world of TMNT.”
The 3D Beat ’Em Up Platformer is available now on PlayStation 4 and 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Steam.
