Marvel Games and NetEase Games celebrated a record-breaking launch for “Marvel Rivals,” a new Super Hero Team-Based PVP Shooter that lets players assemble an ever-evolving all-star squad of Super Heroes and Super Villains battling with unique powers across a dynamic lineup of destructible maps from across the Marvel Multiverse. The game amassed 10 million players globally within its first three days, NetEase announced on the game’s official X account.
Launched on Dec. 6, the game debuted with “Season 0: Doom’s Rise,” featuring 33 heroes (all unlocked and free to play) and eight maps for Quick Match and Competitive modes, a Conquest map and a Practice Range. Inspired by the chaos of Doctor Doom’s time experiments, the storyline serves as an action-packed prelude to future updates.
To celebrate the global launch, “Marvel Rivals” is hosting Twitch Drop events throughout Season 0, offering in-game rewards for viewers tuning into partnered streams. Players can also participate in the “Entangled Moments” seasonal event to unlock spray rewards, gallery card rewards and stories by completing tasks. Additionally, a global launch gift will be available for players to redeem with a special code for a free Iron Man costume.
The “Marvel Rivals: Galactic Tunes Official Video Game Soundtrack” launched alongside the game on all major platforms. The soundtrack includes different versions of "Rivals 'Til the End," one performed by Adriana Figueroa and the other by Chrissy Costanza. It also includes the Luna Snow theme song "Fate of Both Worlds," performed by Le'mon. The physical vinyl of Galactic Tunes is now available for pre-order.
“Marvel Rivals” utilizes Unreal Engine 5 to provide advanced visuals and effects and is available now on Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series XIS, Epic Games Store and the official website.
