According to the National Retail Federation (NRF), 96% of Americans buy gifts for their families, 68% buy gifts for their friends, 30% buy for their coworkers and 41% buy gifts for other people. ‘Tis the season for gifting, and as Christmas, Hannukah and more approach, even those in the licensing industry need some ideas sometimes. License Global breaks down gift ideas for every kind of person in your life.

The Musical Theater Nerd

It’s no surprise that if you have a theater kid (or grown-up theater kid) in your life, we highly recommend checking out the licensing program for “Wicked.” Are they a fashionista? Check out Bloomingdales or Ground Up’s collabs. A foodie? Betty Crocker. From Squishmallows to LUSH and more, there are dozens of collaborations to choose from. As Elphaba Thropp once said, everyone deserves the chance to fly!

The Video Game Obsessed

No matter the age, everyone knows someone in their life that spends much of their free time gaming. Some new titles that have launched include “Dragon Age: The Veilguard,” “Monster High: Skulltimate Secrets,” “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Unleashed” and more. If you aren’t sure what console(s) or games they already own, don’t worry. There’s plenty of licensed merch to choose from. For example, with the upcoming “Minecraft” movie on the way and a 15th anniversary concluding, there’s a lot of products to choose from in that line alone (some of our favorites include the newly launched Igloo cooler and the Beats headphones).

The Disney Lover

Disney continues to be the No. 1 licensor in our Top Global Licensors report, and with that comes a myriad of options for Disney loving kids and adults alike. Some of the latest Disney launches include “Big Hero 6” and “Moana 2” collections from BoxLunch, a Stitch inspired by Elvis collection, BaubleBar pins, Macy’s and lululemon collabs and more.

The Makeup Maven

I myself am License Global’s resident beauty lover, and there is a multitude of new licensed makeup to drool over. If you want to lean into the holiday theme, ColourPop Cosmetics recently announced their “Frosty the Snowman” collection. If you don’t want to be quite as on the (button) nose with holiday theming, ColourPop also recently released a “Stranger Things” collection and a collection with Bratz. Revolution Beauty recently launched a collection inspired by “Toy Story,” complete with a palette, lip glosses, a bag and more.  Fenty Beauty teamed with “Arcane” for a collaborative makeup collection. Sabrina Carpenter, one of the “it” girls of pop music right now, recently revealed a new fragrance. There are a ton of licensed beauty collabs to go for in the market.

The Dungeon Master

Do you have a Dungeons & Dragons lover in your life? I’ve got a few, so I’ve done some research on D&D gifts. Collaborations this year were plentiful, as this year marked the 50th anniversary of the D&D brand. Hasbro and its Wizards of the Coast division announced the release of “Dungeons & Dragons – Bardic Inspiration: A Musical Journey through the Forgotten Realms” album earlier this November. In late October, New Holland Brewing & Distilling Co. announced a new Dragon’s Milk product line, complete with two limited-edition releases: D20 Brew Bourbon Barrel Aged Stout and Origin Mead Cask Bourbon Whiskey. For clothing and accessory options, this year saw the launch of a collaboration from BlackMilk Clothing and from Converse

The Cultured One

If someone you know just emulates fanciness and class, but you don’t know what to get them, your answer lies in art and heritage licensing. Here are some ideas: Anthropologie and The Met recently launched a homewares collection; the Van Gogh Museum has an ongoing fragrance and home collection with Floral Street and The Royal Horticultural Society and Roma recently revealed a nursery products collab.

The Sports Fan

Go sports! Even if you don’t know a whole lot about the game they love (I know I don’t,) you can still support their fandom by giving them the best sports merch that licensing has to offer. Monopoly recently announced a LeBron James luxury edition; Bogg teamed up with WinCraft by Fanatics for NFL game day bags; David Beckham recently launched his Predator 24 collection and PacSun revealed new Formula 1 merch. There’s plenty of collaborations to choose from!

The Anime Aficionado

Anime is huge right now, with brands like Crunchyroll and Netflix leading the charge on licensed merchandise. Crunchyroll’s “Cowboy Bebop” collection with Logic is a good option, or for “One Piece” fans, Funko recently released collectibles including a 25th anniversary Pop!
