MAGIC to join forces with fellow fashion trade show JFW-International for new event in Tokoyo.

UBM (the parent company of License! Global, Licensing Expo and MAGIC) will launch IFF MAGIC Japan, a new joint venture between the two fashion trade shows MAGIC and JFW-International Fashion Fair.

JFW-International Fashion Fair is a bi-annual fashion business tradeshow organized by publisher Senken Shimbun.

The first IFF MAGIC Japan event will take place April 26-28, 2017, at the Tokyo Big Sight exhibition center.

The news follows quickly on UBM's acquisition of the fashion trade show producer Business Journals Inc, which was announced last week.

IFF MAGIC Japan 2017 will be held as the cornerstone of Japan Fashion Week in Tokyo and will feature a re-imagined and re-merchandised show floor with new brands laid out in easy-to-navigate fashion neighborhoods to maximize the experience for both retailers and exhibitors. The new trade show will also launch a social media presence, marketing strategies and show floor activations.

“Fashion is a truly global industry, and we are thrilled for MAGIC’s upcoming expansion into the Japan market in partnership with JFW-International Fashion Fair, and UBM Japan,” says Chris DeMoulin, managing director, fashion, UBM America’s. “Our combined expertise will not only help IFF MAGIC Japan evolve quickly to meet the dynamic needs of the Japanese market, but will provide a new platform for UBM Fashion’s global customer base to find new business partners and brands in Japan as well.”

With the launch of IFF MAGIC Japan, UBM will aim to further educate and facilitate commerce for retail buyers and attendees. The trade show will also serve as a high-profile showcase for Japanese fashion brands and designers to promote themselves to both Japan and the global market, and as an opportunity for international brands and suppliers to access the Japanese market.
