The agreement comes ahead of the sequel to the animated Trolls feature film, due next year. LEGO expects to release its new Trolls playsets to coincide with the debut of movie’s premiere.
“We are excited to build upon our successful partnership with Universal by adding the popular Trolls franchise into our collection,” says Jill Wilfert, vice president, licensing and entertainment, LEGO. “The first film was a colorful celebration of positivity that appealed to a wide audience, and we see a lot of potential in the Trolls’ universe to inspire compelling creative play experiences.”
Trolls addition to the Universal and LEGO pact continues the two companies long-standing partnership. The licensing agreement between them already included properties such as Jurassic Park.
