Basic Fun! Named Master Toy Partner for Care Bears
Cloudco Entertainment has awarded Basic Fun! the master toy rights for the Care Bears brand in the U.S. and the U.K.
Basic Fun! plans to create a Care Bears product line highlighted by interactivity, collectability and playability. The company plans to debut the new line at the Fall Toy Preview in Dallas, Tex. in October. Basic Fun! will launch the Care Bears collection in North America and the U.K. in the second half of 2020.
“When we relaunched Care Bears at Play Along, we were blown away by how big it hit and how well it was received by kids and collectors, considering it had only been off the market for just over 10 years,” says Jay Foreman, chief executive officer, Basic Fun! “Now that we are truly in the sweet spot between the confluence of the Millennial mom and her child with this heritage brand, and the craze of collecting, our launch has the potential to be bigger than ever!”
The new Care Bears line aligns with the launch of an animated series, “Care Bears: Unlock the Magic,” which debuted earlier this year in the U.S. on Boomerang and Cartoon Network as well as Tiny Pop in the U.K. The show is aimed at providing a modern take on the Care Bears.
