Continuing the global celebration of the Yu-Gi-Oh! card game’s 25th anniversary, Konami Cross Media NY has confirmed several new licensing agreements for the popular global brand.
New merchandising agreements have been signed with HYP Hats, Kawada Co., First Kid General Trading, Monogram International and FuRyu Corporation.
Partnering with HYP Hats, also known as Hypnotic Hats, the new licensing partnership will bring a fresh line of Yu-Gi-Oh!-inspired socks and sock-based gift sets for all ages and available at retail in time for this year’s holiday gift-giving.
“We are very excited about this initial licensing agreement with Konami Cross Media NY,” says Howard Levy, president, HYP Hats. “Yu-Gi-Oh!-designed socks will be a great accessory for fans to add to their wardrobe.”
Konami Cross Media NY also secured a licensing deal with Kawada Co., which will introduce a line of Yu-Gi-Oh! nanoblock kits; small, detailed interlocking blocks that make it possible for fans of all ages to build a wide range of palm-size Yu-Gi-Oh! characters.
“The incredible detail and unlimited creative possibilities using nanoblocks provides multiple experiences for Yu-Gi-Oh! fans of all ages,” says Jennifer Coleman, vice president, licensing and marketing, Konami Cross NY. “The Yu-Gi-Oh! nanoblocks are fun to use to build characters, fun to display and fun to collect, providing enjoyment, enrichment and excitement for everyone.”
Focusing on the Middle East and North African markets, Konami Cross Media NY has announced a licensing agreement with First Kid General Trading, introducing a line of Yu-Gi-Oh! back-to-school products, including school bags, school accessories, stationery, arts and crafts and electronics.
“We are very excited to partner with Konami Cross Media NY to create a range of Yu-Gi-Oh!-branded back-to-school products,” says Mumtaz Alshwiki, founder, chief executive officer, First Kid General Trading.
FuRyu Corporation has been tapped to develop a series of collectible statues based on both the Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters and Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL series. This new line of collectible characters, available now for pre-order, expands the brand’s expansive collectible product lines.
Wrapping up this round of new Yu-Gi-Oh! licensing agreements, Konami Cross Media has inked an agreement with Monogram International, which introduced a new line of collectible Yu-Gi-Oh! foam figures at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con.
“Yu-Gi-Oh! was one of the highlights of our San Diego Comic-Con offerings this year,” says Michael Normann, vice president, sales and marketing, Monogram International. “We are incredibly happy to be working with Konami Cross Media NY and look forward to a long and prosperous relationship.”
