Preschool network Sprout has developed its own kids' tablet that will debut exclusively at Walmart in the U.S. this October.

Produced by Ematic, the Sprout Channel Cubby tablet is available for pre-order now on Walmart.com.

Just like a preschooler’s cubby at school, the Cubby tablet is designed to hold all of kids' treasured belongings. The device will come with a host of pre-loaded content and will include special credits for Vudu.com where customers can download more content.

Among the content that will come pre-loaded on the tablet are 40 full episodes of Sprout shows including "The Chica Show," "Barney," "Fireman Sam," "Chloe’s Closet" and the premiere episode of "Astroblast"; 28 music videos featuring "The Sunny Side Up Show," "Laurie Berkner" and "LazyTown"; six Sprout songs; 28 apps including “Dress Chica,” “Goodnight Star” and “Crayola Color, Draw & Sing”; plus favorite characters including The Wiggles.

The device also features a child-safe web browser and parental dashboard for caregivers to control time and content limits for each child.

“We’re incredibly excited to launch the Sprout Channel Cubby,” says Sandy Wax, president, Sprout. “Just as parents and caregivers trust Sprout in their homes and on the go every day, they can feel secure with the Sprout Channel Cubby’s safe play environment where children can interact with their favorite characters and shows.”

The Sprout brand is managed by Universal Partnerships & Licensing.
