Coolabi has picked Character Options to be the master toy partner for its upcoming remake of the classic British animated series “Clangers.”

The cult will return to its home on the BBC after 45 years in 2015, in a co-production from Coolabi, Smallfilms, CBeebies and the U.S. preschool network Sprout. BBC Worldwide will distribute the show internationally.

Character Options has already secured U.K. distribution and global manufacturing rights (excluding the U.S.) to the brand and is planning a range of plush and play sets set to launch at retail in fall/winter 2015.

“Clangers is an evergreen property that already has a strong following amongst parents of many of today’s preschoolers,” says Jon Diver, joint managing director, Character Options. “With the upcoming CBeebies series and timeless storylines and characters, the time is ripe to bring it back to market as a major toy line. I myself have great memories of these funny creatures that live on soup on a distant planet and cannot wait to see them come to life as one of Character Options’ preschool brands.”
