The winners of the sixth annual Toy Fair Best New Toy Awards were announced Tuesday on the first day of the U.K. Toy Fair in London with winners including LEGO, Hasbro, Vivid and Flair.

Hasbro and LEGO took top honors with three wins in three categories, while Character Options, Hornby and VTech walked away with two awards each. Licensed toys were well represented among the winners with brands like Peppa Pig, Power Rangers and DreamWorks’ Dragons taking home awards.

The event was hosted by show organizer the British Toy & Hobby Association, with winners in 13 categories selected by a panel of independent toy retailers. The panel was charged with determining the 2014 toys with the most potential to make a mark at retail throughout the year.

“We are delighted to showcase the Toy Fair Best New Toy Award winners for a sixth year in a row,” says Majen Immink, senior communications manager, BTHA. “Once again, the winners show the level of innovation and creativity within the U.K. toy industry, from traditional toys through to advances in technology.”
