Hasbro has teamed up with Wizards of the Coast, one of its subsidiaries for a trading card game inspired by its Transformers franchise.

The Transformers Trading Card Game invites fans to interact with a customizable card deck that features characters from the brand. The Autobot Starter Set and Booster Packs will feature cards that are twice the size of standard playing cards and can be flipped from bot mode and back by turning them.

“The TCG format lets us pull Transformers characters from across the brand’s extensive history. From Bumblebee to Sunstorm—the game is digging deep into the Transformers’ lore,” says Drew Nolasco, brand manager, Transformers Trading Card Game.  “We can even focus on different aspects of the same character. Optimus Prime, for example, is immensely powerful in combat, but he’s also a master tactician. The Transformers TCG will let players explore the characters’ depth through engaging and tactical gameplay.”

The Transformers Trading card range will be available for purchase at in the U.S. and other select markets later this year.
