The classic puzzle game will inspire consumer products across Europe.

EUROPE—The Tetris Company has tapped licensing agency Maurizio Distefano Licensing for the classic game.

Blue Planet Software brokered the deal.

Under the terms of the agreement, Maurizio Distefano will manage merchandise licensing for Tetris across multiple categories in Italy, Republic of San Marino, Vatican State, Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia.

“Tetris has a huge fan base across Eastern Europe and Italy, and being able to bring them fun, new ways to enjoy the brand, that are unique to their respective markets, is a big priority for us,” says Maya Rogers, president and chief operating officer, Blue Planet Software. “Therefore, we’re very pleased to announce the addition of Maurizio Distefano, who has a proven track record of working with major global brands, to our growing worldwide network of merchandise agent partners.”
