Bandai America will celebrate the 40th anniversary of Pac-Man with the release of a new Tamagotchi starring the video game character.

“Tamagotchi has been an incredible brand for Bandai America for more than 22 years,” says Tara Badie, marketing director, Bandai America. “Our 2019 Tamagotchi On release has proved to be a great success and it only made sense to bring two of the most iconic brands together for this huge celebration.”

Features included in this release include being able to feed Pac-Man cherries and watching him save pets from ghosts and bugs. There’s a possibility of cycling through seven different virtual pets.

Two mini games, the Pac Game and the Catch Game, are available with the Tamagotchis, which come in one of two shells. A deluxe version is available with a carrying case.

The Pac-Man Tamagotchi is available for pre-order on Amazon and will be available in retail on March 15.
