Spin Master has acquired the international rights to the HedBanz intellectual property.

In 2011, Spin Master acquired the rights to HedBanz for the U.S. and Mexico. The recent acquisition grants the toymaker the global I.P., and ability to sell, market and license the property into new territories globally. Currently sold in more than 40 markets, HedBanz has been one of the top-selling children's games in France, the U.K., Italy and Australia for more than 15 years.

Following the acquisition, Spin Master announced the launch of a new app that adds to the classic board game. The app puts a face filter on players to turn them into the card on their head.

"We are excited to continue to grow the HedBanz portfolio and introduce this new interactive app to families and friends to further enhance their gaming experience," says Elizabeth LoVecchio, vice president, marketing, Spin Master Games. "Spin Master's continued growth in the games category, with recent acquisitions, innovative partnerships and unique IP titles has established us as the second-largest games company in the U.S."

"The timing of this strategic acquisition for our powerhouse brand HedBanz is serendipitous," says Anton Rabie, co-founder and co-chief executive officer, Spin Master. "With the opening of our new Long Island City office and the addition of many talented games industry experts to our team, we are creating an epicenter for Spin Master Games. We're working hard to bring adults, kids and families the best game experience."

Spin Master also recently debuted another augmented reality app for its new "Dragamonz" property.
