As toys and merchandise for Slugterra begins rolling out this month, Nerd Corps Entertainment has announced has signed new deals and agents for the boys property.

Roll out in the U.S. is kicking off this month with a line of collectible slugs and blasters from Jakks Pacific. Shout Factory is also releasing the first in a series of Slugterra DVDs to coincide with the toy launch.

“Our plan is to launch Slugterra toys this spring with a product line centered around collectability, transformation and functional role play,” says Michael Wilde, director, marketing, Jakks Pacific. “As the ‘Slugterra’ animated series rolls out globally throughout markets in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific, we will coordinate distribution of our entire product line, including figures, blasters, transforming slugs and other role play accessories to coincide shortly after the series debut.”

Following the toy release, Hybrid Apparel will release a range of t-shirts and Mad Dog Concepts will launch sleepwear in the third quarter. Nerd Corps also plans to release new play modes and in-app purchases for its “Slug it Out!” iOS app this spring.

Internationally, Beyond Home Entertainment has acquired home video rights in Australia and New Zealand, while In Latin America, Slugterra’s licensing agent CPL is currently closing deals for back-to-school, stickers, albums and trading cards.

As broadcast ramps us globally, Nerd Corps has also added more agents to support the international merchandise rollout throughout this year and next, including Character Licensing and Marketing (South Africa) and Brand Is Real (Israel). Current agents include CPLG (the U.K.), Haven Licensing (Australia), Elastic Rights (Spain, Portugal, France, Greece and Turkey), CPL (Latin America) and Megalicense (Russia).

“Slugterra” launched on Disney XD in the U.S. in fall 2012 and new episodes are coming this February. Globally, the series continues to roll out on Disney XD with free TV launches beginning in the third and fourth quarter and continuing throughout 2014.
