Game and puzzle company and licensee The Ravensburger Group has acquired the Swedish toy company Brio, best known is wooden train sets, from the Swedish investor Proventus.

The acquisition also includes Alga, the Swedish market leader in board games.

Brio will continue to operate as an independent subsidiary based in Malmö under its existing management.
